In response to renewed Israeli aggression against the Palestinian people residing in the Gaza Strip, SJP UCSD (one of the Student Sustainability Collective’s Affiliates) will be hosting two events this week.
Monday, November 19th
Students for Justice in Palestine at UC San Diego calls students, staff, faculty, and community members to join us at a candle-light vigil for Gaza. As of now, Israeli offensive has resulted in the deaths of at least 72 people (http://palestinefrommyeyes.wordpress.com/2012/11/17/gazaunderattack-names-and-ages-of-killed-people-who-fell-victim-during-the-past-ongoing-israeli-attacks-on-gaza/). Israel is also positioned for a ground invasion, with a preliminary approval for a call-up of 75,000 reservists from the IDF. We call upon the community to come together to be in solidarity with the Palestinian people’s resistance to Israeli aggression.
If you would like to be on the speaker’s list to share poetry, thoughts, etc., please go to the Facebook event at (https://www.facebook.com/events/304766016298865/), mention it in the comments, and you will receive a confirmation message from one of the principal members of SJP. We are only allowing allies to speak.
